Community Supported Agriculture

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a sustainable food production system that aims to reestablish the competitiveness of small farms, strengthen the community by reconnecting people to the land and protect the environment. Shareholders buy, in advance, a percentage of healthy, organic produce and pick up their goods at a local drop-off point or at the farm.

Heifer Ranch's CSA program provides fresh seasonal produce from the end of April until August to participating shareholders. Grown as USDA certified organice, the top quality fresh produce includes a wide variety of vegetables, herbs and flowers.

Participants purchase a share of the CSA in the spring and receive a weekly delivery of produce to Heifer's World Headquarters in downtown Little Rock every Friday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. during the harvest season. You will have an opportunity to harvest your own produce during a selected week in July and weekly one-on-one contact with your farmers each Friday afternoon.

Share purchases for the 2013 season begin in March. Shares are $400 for the approximately 18 week season.
