Heifer International CEO Pierre Ferrari to Participate in Chicago Council Symposium

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (May 17, 2013) – Heifer International’s President and CEO Pierre Ferrari will participate in The Chicago Council Symposium in Washington, D.C. on May 21. The one-day meeting brings together world leaders from science, business, philanthropy and development to discuss topics including future food demand. 

Heifer Village to Host Little Rock Film Festival Screenings, Reception on May 17

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (May 14, 2013) – Heifer International invites the public to attend free screenings of three of the films competing for Heifer International’s Social Impact Film Award. The screenings will take place on Friday, May 17, at Heifer Village, which neighbors the Clinton Presidential Library in downtown Little Rock.

Heifer Village Launches “Heifer Hour” Summer Activities

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (May 2, 2012) – Beginning May 4, 2013 and lasting through the summer, children and their parents can enjoy a new activity every week at Heifer Village in downtown Little Rock. Each Tuesday and Saturday at 11:00 a.m., the Murphy Keller Learning Center (Heifer Village) will host “Heifer Hour” featuring a craft, game, children’s book or outdoor activity to help teach kids about caring for the Earth and for other people.

Patrick Rothfuss Reading, Book Signing May 9 at Heifer Village

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (May 2, 2013) – Fantasy author and Heifer International supporter Patrick Rothfuss will hold his first reading and book signing in Arkansas at Heifer Village in downtown Little Rock at 7:00 p.m. on May 9. Rothfuss, author of the projected three-volume series The Kingkiller Chronicles, will read excerpts from his work, take questions from the audience and sign copies of his books.

Heifer China Staff Safe Following Weekend Earthquake

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 24, 2013) - Heifer International has learned that Heifer China’s staff is safe following a weekend earthquake that struck the southwestern Chinese province of Sichuan. The Chinese government is reporting that nearly 200 were killed and more than 12,000 injured in Saturday morning’s 7.0 magnitude quake.

Heifer International Seeking Information about Staff, Families Following Serious Earthquake in China

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 22, 2013) - Heifer International continues to pursue information about the safety and condition of Heifer China staff, volunteers and project families in the wake of the strong earthquake that struck the southwestern Chinese province of Sichuan over the weekend. The 7.0-magnitude quake struck near Ya'an City, population 1.5 million, early Saturday and the government is reporting nearly 200 people killed and more than 8,000 injured.

Heifer Cambodia Facilitator Wins $10,000 Award

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 2, 2013) – Ley Savorn, a facilitator in one of Heifer International’s projects in Cambodia, has been selected as a winner in the Students Rebuild Awards featuring Half the Sky Movement. She plans to use the $10,000 prize to open an agricultural supply shop to sell goods to farmers in her community at reduced prices, with proceeds benefiting local elderly, women and children.

Cody Belew to Film Music Video at Heifer Village

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 25, 2013) – This Saturday, March 30, Heifer International is inviting the public to be a part of Cody Belew’s music video for “Say Love,” his new single benefiting the work of Heifer International. The video recording will take place from 2-4 p.m. outside and in front of Heifer Village, adjacent to the Clinton Presidential Center in downtown Little Rock.
