Kimisha Mwangaza Women's Group project is located in central Kenya, 10 miles from Kerugoya. This dairy project, funded by Heifer International Kenya, is owned by a group of 36 women, 16 of whom are widows or single mothers. It will provide them with 18 quality heifers and training in integrated cattle husbandry to help increase their incomes. Another 18 families will benefit through “passing on the gift.”

Eighteen out of the 36 women will be provided with 18 in-calf heifers, who will sign pass on contracts to pass on year-old (12 months) heifers to the remaining 18 women until all group members have received dairy cows. Kenya - Kimisha Mwangaza Women's Group ProjectThe beneficiaries of pass-ons will also give out the first female offspring which will be used to fund a new group within the project area.
