Raghu and Kalpana are a young married couple in Nepal. Raghu worked in Malaysia, but after he attended Heifer's 12 Cornerstones for Just and Sustainable Development training, the couple started a goat-breeding business in their own village. Area Vice President Mahendra Lohani shares their story.

Natural disasters have posed a significant challenge for Heifer Philippines’ project Developing Dairy Zone Towards Local Economy Development for Smallholder Farmers. Despite the risks, partners are enthusiastic and the first 100 dairy families are expected to participate in the Original Placement Ceremonies (OPC) this June, immediately followed by the OPC for the remaining 300 families.
A joint project proposal from Heifer Cambodia and Gender and Development for Cambodia was awarded about $1,441,720 by the European Union to implement the project, Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights and Socio-Economic Empowerment, which aims to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment to participate in sustainable socio-economic development in Cambodia.
Trinh Thi Phuong Dung and her husband, Heifer Vietnam project participants, work hard so their children can go to college. Their two daughters, 28 and 22, both graduated from the university with degrees in accounting, and their son, 18, is due to begin his studies in February at the College of Politics in Bac Lieu.
