LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 7, 2012) – On Saturday, March 16, children and grownups alike can enjoy Heifer International’s Spring Fling at Heifer Village in downtown Little Rock. Winter is ending, and families can enjoy a variety of spring activities at the Murphy Keller Education Center (Heifer Village).
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 4, 2013) – Heifer International is urging its supporters to take action on March 8, International Women’s Day, on behalf of women worldwide who struggle with hunger and poverty. The recently launched tablet edition of World Ark magazine, a publication of nonprofit Heifer International, has been named a finalist for a min 2013 Best of the Web award.
Heifer International is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of William “Bill” Williams in Rutland, Mass. Williams, 92, donated 300 acres of Overlook Farm land to Heifer in 1983 to keep the land in agriculture and to help feed people in countries with "Living Gifts."
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Feb. 8, 2013) – The QBE North America Foundation recently made a generous donation to Heifer International for the second consecutive year. Carolyn Bartholdson, Chief Human Resources Officer at QBE presented the $50,000 check to Paul Yeghiayan, a Major Gifts Officer for Heifer International.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (February 7, 2013) – Arkansans can learn about Heifer International’s one-of-a-kind project in Ghana with animals called “grasscutters” at a presentation at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Roland Kanlisi, Heifer Ghana country director, will share Heifer International’s work to domesticate this rodent, whose meat is highly sought-after, to boost incomes among poor urban residents.
