Service-Learning and Fundraising Programs

Teachers can do for their students what Heifer does for project partners around the world: inspire others to become part of ever-widening efforts to create a better world. We see it again and again at Heifer International as inspired students act to improve the lives of communities helped by Heifer.

We encourage you and your students to join these efforts and offer these ideas for all grade levels to get you started.

Read To Feed – Read to Feed® is a reading incentive fundraiser that will foster in your children a love for reading and a passion to help others while giving your children a way to raise funds for Heifer. Learn more about Read to Feed®.

Heifer Challenge – Heifer Challenge is a fun, rewarding way to make a difference in the world. Participants, individually or as a group, select a challenge, like challenging their principal to dress in a cow suit all day, decide how much it is worth, find sponsors, complete the challenge and donate the funds for Heifer. Learn more about Heifer Challenge.

Chores for Change - Chores for Change teaches students of any age about community service and how to make a difference by challenging them to volunteer in their community. Learn more about Chores for Change.

From Farm to Plate – Students are challenged to discover the origins of their food and examine the pros and cons of consuming both locally grown foods and non-local foods, while exploring issues of environmental sustainability. Learn more about From Farm to Plate.
